Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day!

I just have a few cards to quickly share for my "dads!"

This first one is for my father-in-law who recently turned 90 years young.  You always find him in a dress shirt and dress pants......Never a sloppy dresser.  He says it's part of "his generation."  I wouldn't be able to see him dressed any other way.  Love this man (and his son)!

This was a Silhouette cutting file.  And when I saw it, I knew it was going to be for FIL!  It's him to a "T"!

For my dad (and hero).........I sort of stuck to the same color palette of kraft and blues.  Here's yet another Silhouette cutting file that I used and then used a piece of sandpaper around all of the edges to give it a "worn" look.

These two men are two of my favorites!  They are strong, loving and just amazing role models.  I'm so very lucky to have them both in my life!

SCRUBBIES!!!!

Good morning, everyone!

This morning I'm showcasing some hand-crocheted items for your kitchen and bath!

They may be tiny, but they are mighty!  LOL

I've started crocheting SCRUBBIES!!!!

There are 2 different kinds.......one for your face and one for so many other jobs.

FACE & DISH SCRUBBIES

Facial scrubbies are so, so, so soft!  These are made of cotton (and sometimes a blend of cotton and acrylic) and are meant to replace a wash cloth for removing your make up.  Did I mention how soft they were???  Perfectly sized with a 4" diameter, they fit nicely in your hand and lather up with your favorite facial cleanser.  

They are eco friendly because you aren't buying something and then throwing it in the trash.  You can use these over and over again and throw them in the wash.  Washing them in the washing machine will also make them softer and softer each time.  

I made them double thick (crocheting 2 rounds together), so you can also use them in the shower or bath. A friend even uses them to do her dishes instead of a dish cloth. 

DISH & POT SCRUBBIES

Now, this scrubby is even MORE heavy duty!  I made these using nylon netting and the 100% cotton yarn.  One side is meant to wash dishes the other to scrub pots and pans.  The nylon is tough enough to scrub with, yet it won't take off the non-stick coating on your pans.  

To clean these, simply hang them over one of your posts in the dishwasher when you do your dishes.  The extra hot water and scrubbing bubbles will take away all of the bacteria and germs.

 

Again, don't just use them in the kitchen.......They are wonderful to use to clean your shower or even get darker colored ones to give to your husband to use in the garage!

Happy Birthday, Little Guy!

Good morning, everyone!

Here's another card that a friend and customer requested for a 2-year old little boy.  As soon as I saw the CASology challenge, I knew I had to get ready to do some coloring .......... because what little guy doesn't like trucks????  I can tell you that I truly missed coloring with my Copics and will have to do it more often this summer.

Using Tim Holtz embossing diffusers, I was able to create the front of this CAS card.  I love those diffusers!

Since the outside sentiment had the word birthday, I didn't want to repeat it on the inside.  So this little guy gets to "make a wish!"

 My inspiration for this card came from  CASology's #47 Challenge - Wheels.

A Relaxing and Reclining Kind of Birthday!

Good morning, everyone!

I bet you can't believe that I'm still making and posting cards to the blog!  But, I am!  In fact, we are camping right now, and I can't wait to get home so I can do some more!

Another card ordered by a friend for a masculine birthday.  These are always so difficult but with this new stamp set from PTI, it has made it easy!  I think this is the 3rd or 4th masculine birthday card that I have made using it.

I absolutely loved the blues and greens for the color challenge for this card.  Since I only used the dies to cut out the recliner, I added a some paper piercing around the edge to give it some depth.

For the outside, the die cut "birthday" was done in the same patterned paper as the recliner to tie it all together!

 My inspiration for this card came from 3 different challenges.  The paper piercing idea came from SCS's CAS Challenge - Tool Time. The sketch and colors used came from Freshly Made's #89 Challenge and ColourQ's #192 Challenge.

Doodling Birthday Balloons

Good afternoon, everyone!

I think I'm on a roll!  Especially since this is my 2nd post for the day!

How about a little doodling!  Yep, I truly mean doodling on your card!  I recently added some doodling to this card when I read about it in a challenge.  It worked perfectly with balloons.

I did doodling for the balloon strings and the edges of the balloons using Copic Multiliner pens.

 My inspiration for this card came from 3 different challenges.  The doodling came from SCS's Doodle Defined challenge. The sketch and colors used came from Mojo Monday's #296 challenge and Color Throwdown's #245 challenge.

Graduation Season

Lots of graduations this summer......so, here's the first one of the season!

Congrats Class of 2013!

They aren't showing up super well, but on the top of each of the caps, I placed a blue rhinestone.  I love the way that little addition brings the card to life!

Thinking of You!

Good morning, everyone!

Can you believe that this is Day 3 of posts on my blog?  I know I can't believe it!  Again, and I apologize for repeating myself, I'm loving the time I had this weekend to stamp and create.  I really do miss it.

Here's another beauty!

I absolutely love the way this card turned out.  The hints of "lava" red mixed with the purple and pink are the perfect accents.  Using one of my good friend's crocheted flowers (link in the materials list) with a matching brad in the center was the perfect touch!

For a friend who's had a rough couple of months, this was the most perfect sentiment.

 My inspiration for this card came from Arizon Maine's Card #1 in the SCS Inspiration Challenge "Anything Preppy".  I coupled that with the color challenge from The Play Date Cafe #184 to come up with a great card.

Get Well Pup!

Good morning, everyone!

I told you that I would be back with more cards!  

 

On Sunday, I spent most of the day making cards.  What a GREAT feeling!!! I haven't done that in months.  The sad part is, I think every stamp set I used had never been inked up.  Very sad!  Hopefully, I'll make up for it this summer!

These colors were just amazing to work with.  That cute pup is popping right off the front of the card.  I'm not sure if you can see it but I used the "faux fur" technique with my Copics to make him look all fuzzy.

The perfect little sentiment inside for someone recovering from surgery.  I'm sure this is the "pick-me-up" that she will need.

 I did need some inspiration to get me going, so I turned to a few challenges.  I missed posting this to the CASology - Week 46 inspiration challenge which was "Furry," but it did allow me to use a stamp set that I never inked up before! I also used Freshly Made Sketches #88 for the layout of the card; and finally, I combined that with the Color Throwdown #244 to come up with a great card for Sue.

Relaxing Birthday Card!

Good morning, everyone!

I got to play with some new stamps this week (something I haven't done in quite awhile).  I had so much fun and can't wait for summer vacation to begin so that I can do it more often.

This card was made for a special brother-in-law who has a birthday, TODAY!!!  He's probably already received it in the mail, but I couldn't wait to post about it.

Every guy needs his recliner on his birthday.  Don't you think?  In order to make this card more masculine, I chose the stripes which helped offset the brads and button.  Both of those embellishments were more masculine, too......with the metal ring around the brads and wooden button, it all worked nicely together.

I carried the stripes over to the inside for the sentiment, which sort of tied the inside and outside together.  I really love how this turned out.

 I did need a sketch to get me going (I'm feeling a little out of practice), so the Deconstructed Sketch No. 102 gave me some inspiration.  I coupled that with the ColourQ Challenge #191 to come up with a great card for Steve.

Newborn Baby Ruffle Butt Cover and Hat

Good morning!

It's Friiiiiiiidayyyyyyyyyy!!!!

I'm so ready for the weekend and getting this little project done ahead of time was the icing on the cake for finishing out my week.

I had a request for a pink, yellow and peach ruffle butt cover for a newborn arriving in late June.  I couldn't find any ruffle yarns with those colors so we just used pink and peach, instead.

Look how cute!

This will be perfect as a photo prop for the precious little one wearing it.  It will fit right over her tiny diaper and make a bright, fun photograph!
